Dan is Fletcher Jones Professor of Entrepreneurship and associate professor of management at University of the Pacific (California). He also holds visiting professor appointments in the Department of Management, Politics, and Philosophy at Copenhagen Business School and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Education at Kyoto University. Dan’s research uses historical sources, methods, and reasoning to examine the foundations of entrepreneurial action and the origins and evolution of organizations and markets. He has published in leading journals in both management (Academic of Management Journal) and business history (Business History Review, Business History).
